4th International Conference Shoes in History 2004

Experts from museums, universities and other scientific institutions, together with researchers, students and personalities from the field of history of footwear met again on the 11th to 13th of October, 2004, in Zlín to exchange knowledge from this interesting area of research. Lectures about the way of walking before the invention of the heel (June Swann), about footwear in church history regarding liturgy, symbolism and hagiography (Lubomír Filip Piperek) or about the motivation of people collecting shoes (Inge Specht-den Boer) are just a short list of numerous interesting topics from the conference.
